On March 7, 2026, in Hanoi, Tue Tinh Hospital – Vietnam University of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy organized the International Scientific Conference on “Application of Mirari Cold Plasma in Medicine – New Trends and Global Prospects” to discuss initial research findings on the effectiveness and safety of Mirari cold plasma technology in several treatment fields in Vietnam.

The conference was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health (Department of Science, Technology and Training; Department of Medical Equipment and Construction), domestic and international medical experts, representatives from educational institutions, research institutes, hospitals, and professional management agencies. The content focused on the scientific basis of Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) and initial research findings implemented in several clinical specialties.

Clinical Evaluation Report at Tue Tinh Hospital

At the conference, research groups from Tue Tinh Hospital presented clinical case evaluation reports in several treatment areas, including:

  • Musculoskeletal and Geriatrics: noted a trend of pain reduction and improved mobility in patients with periarthritis of the shoulder and knee osteoarthritis after short-term treatment.
  • Endocrinology and Intensive Care: some soft tissue wounds and pressure ulcers showed improvement based on international assessment scales.
  • Surgery: post-hemorrhoidectomy patients showed reduced pain and favorable wound healing progression.
  • Dermatology: patients with common acne showed improvement in skin lesions and quality of life when treated with combination therapy.

Research Report at Hoe Nhai General Hospital

A notable highlight of the conference was the preliminary clinical evaluation conducted at Hoe Nhai General Hospital with a total of 116 patients, carried out from August 2025 to January 2026.

The study was designed as a prospective, before–after comparative model and implemented across three clinical departments: On-demand Examination, Rehabilitation, and Intensive Care.

Initial results showed:

  • The musculoskeletal pain group (n = 113) showed reduced pain scores and improved functional mobility during short-term follow-up.
  • The wound group (n = 3) showed improvement trends according to international evaluation scales.
  • No serious adverse events were recorded during the follow-up period.
  • Patient satisfaction levels were positive according to internal surveys.

Scientific Basis and International Research Context

According to reports at the conference, cold atmospheric plasma is currently being studied in many countries for its potential applications in bacterial control, modulation of inflammatory responses, and promotion of tissue regeneration. Several international clinical trials have shown effectiveness in supporting the treatment of chronic wounds.

In Vietnam, studies on Mirari cold plasma remain limited and are mostly small-scale. This conference is considered a starting point for building a systematic domestic clinical data foundation.

Reports at the conference indicated that Mirari cold plasma has potential as a non-invasive, safe, and multi-mechanism supportive therapy in areas such as:

  • musculoskeletal pain relief
  • wound healing support
  • postoperative care
  • treatment of dermatological conditions.

However, experts emphasized that current results are still at an exploratory stage, mainly based on single-group study designs without control groups. Therefore, further randomized controlled trials with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods are required to confirm clinical value. This technology does not replace existing standard treatment protocols, and its application must comply with all professional and legal regulations regarding medical equipment management.

Future Research Directions

Experts at the conference agreed on several key directions for the next phase, including:

  • standardizing professional procedures for each treatment field;
  • implementing randomized controlled trials;
  • conducting long-term follow-up to assess the sustainability of results;
  • enhancing domestic and international research and training collaboration.

The conference contributed to expanding academic exchange on the application of new technologies in healthcare and laid the foundation for larger-scale clinical studies within Vietnam’s hospital system in the future.
