On June 10, 2026, at Hung Vuong General Hospital, Mirari Import Export Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with the Hospital, organized a scientific workshop themed: “Introduction and Applications of the MIRARI Cold Plasma System in Medicine.”

The workshop attracted the participation of the hospital’s leadership board, along with a large number of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals from various specialties. This meaningful event provided an opportunity for experts and healthcare staff to update themselves on the latest advances in medical cold plasma technology while engaging in in-depth discussions on its potential applications in clinical practice.

Updating Trends in Cold Plasma Technology in Modern Medicine

In recent years, Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) technology has emerged as one of the most groundbreaking research directions, receiving significant attention from the international scientific community. Published studies have shown that cold plasma can generate reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS), which are being investigated for their potential to support microbial control, regulate inflammatory responses, and promote tissue recovery in certain clinical indications.

At the workshop, delegates were introduced to the MIRARI Cold Plasma System developed by General Vibronics Inc. (Arizona, USA). This non-invasive cold plasma platform is designed to support patient treatment and care through the biological effects of cold plasma on tissues and cells.

During the program, speakers presented the operating principles of cold plasma technology, the biological mechanisms of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS), published research evidence from around the world, as well as implementation experiences from several healthcare institutions. Delegates also had the opportunity to discuss technical requirements, potential indications, and areas requiring further research before broader clinical adoption.

The presentations also highlighted scientific evidence, implementation experiences from healthcare facilities worldwide, and the research and application potential of this technology in Vietnam.

Application Potential and Research Directions for Cold Plasma Technology in Healthcare

At the workshop, experts, scientists, and representatives from healthcare institutions exchanged views and discussed the potential applications of MIRARI cold plasma technology across various medical specialties. Preliminary research findings suggest that this technology may support local microbial control, regulate inflammatory responses, promote tissue regeneration, and facilitate recovery from injuries, thereby opening up prospects for applications in the care and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.

Notably, the technique of applying cold plasma in wound care and the support treatment of skin lesions has been included by the Ministry of Health in the List of Medical Examination and Treatment Techniques issued under Circular No. 23/2024/TT-BYT, officially taking effect on July 1, 2026. Its inclusion in the national technical list demonstrates that cold plasma technology has been recognized by regulatory authorities as a technique that may be researched and implemented in medical examination and treatment activities in accordance with current regulations. This also serves as an important foundation for healthcare institutions to develop professional procedures, train personnel, and continue evaluating its effectiveness in clinical practice.

Based on the currently available scientific evidence and practical healthcare needs, delegates expressed particular interest in researching and evaluating the effectiveness of cold plasma applications in disease groups with a high burden of illness and significant treatment demand, including:

  • Diabetic foot ulcers;
  • Chronic wounds and delayed-healing wounds;
  • Pressure ulcers and skin/soft tissue lesions;
  • Postoperative and post-procedural care and recovery;
  • Dermatological conditions and skin care;
  • Pain and inflammatory conditions related to the musculoskeletal system.

Delegates agreed that further controlled clinical studies are necessary to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cold plasma technology for specific disease groups. Such evidence will provide a scientific basis for developing professional guidelines, technical procedures, and broader clinical applications in Vietnam.

Promoting Research Collaboration and Innovation in Healthcare

As one of the largest private healthcare institutions in Vietnam’s Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region, Hung Vuong General Hospital consistently focuses on adopting scientific and technological advancements to improve healthcare quality and deliver greater benefits to patients.

Through the workshop, experts, physicians, and healthcare professionals had the opportunity to exchange academic knowledge, share practical experiences, and discuss future research directions for cold plasma technology in Vietnam.

The workshop also created opportunities for collaboration among healthcare institutions, research organizations, and businesses to promote high-quality scientific research, providing a foundation for objective evaluations of the effectiveness, safety, and applicability of new technologies in healthcare practice.

With strengths in surgical care, internal medicine, rehabilitation, and wound management, workshop participants considered cold plasma to be one of the emerging technologies with significant research potential for supporting the treatment of skin lesions, difficult-to-heal wounds, and certain chronic inflammatory conditions. The Hospital will continue monitoring scientific evidence and evaluating opportunities to conduct appropriate research activities in the future.

Working Together Toward Better Patient Care

Organizing specialized scientific workshops is one of the regular activities of Hung Vuong General Hospital, aimed at updating medical knowledge, accessing advanced medical trends, and strengthening professional connections with experts and organizations both domestically and internationally.

As the healthcare sector continues to promote digital transformation, innovation, and the application of advanced medical technologies in clinical practice, specialized scientific workshops such as the MIRARI Cold Plasma program help create a collaborative platform connecting healthcare providers, scientists, and technology enterprises. These initiatives also provide an important foundation for promoting scientific research, objectively assessing the effectiveness and safety of emerging technologies, and ultimately improving the quality of patient care and treatment.

This activity is also aligned with the Party’s and Government’s policies on fostering innovation, scientific and technological advancement, and digital transformation in the healthcare sector.

Through these initiatives, the Hospital continues to affirm its commitment to becoming a modern healthcare institution that continuously innovates, places patients at the center of its services, and strives for ever-higher professional standards to meet the healthcare needs of people in Phu Tho Province and neighboring regions.
